We built this covered porch off the back of a Medina home, on a raised composite deck that runs the width of the house. The roof is a full gable with a vaulted tongue and groove ceiling, finished in natural wood and lit with recessed cans. Two fans hang from the ridge. Wide steps with black aluminum railing drop to the lawn.
A stone fireplace anchors the far end, stacked to the ceiling with a reclaimed timber mantel and the TV above it. We ran the same stone into a low counter on both sides, with cabinet doors under the caps for storage. Electric heaters are mounted overhead and speakers are set into the ceiling. The porch is open on three sides, so the yard is right there, but it stays usable well past the first frost. Fire lit in October, nobody goes inside.
