TAB Property Enhancement is a Unilock Authorized Contractor and won the 2024 Unilock Best Outdoor Living Award. We’ve earned Best of Houzz recognition eight years running. A paver patio lives or dies below the surface. The base decides everything: whether it stays flat for thirty years or starts to heave and settle after a couple of Ohio winters.
We build on a deep, compacted aggregate base with drainage designed in before the first paver is set. Unilock and Techo-Bloc pavers go down over that and lock together with polymeric sand in the joints. The freeze-thaw cycle that cracks poured concrete and lifts a poorly built patio has nowhere to go when the base is right and water drains where you want it. Between Unilock and Techo-Bloc, the lineup runs from clean contemporary planks to tumbled, old-world stone, so the patio reads as part of the house rather than an add-on.
Every patio starts with a design conversation and a 3D rendering, so you approve the layout, paver, and laying pattern before we break ground. We pull the permits where they’re needed and handle excavation, grading, base prep, and the full install with our own crews. One team, from the first cut to final compaction. No subcontractor handoffs on the hardscape.
Most patios fold in the features that make the space usable after dark and into the shoulder seasons: a Unilock or Techo-Bloc fire feature, a built-in seat wall, low-voltage lighting, a pergola overhead. We plan those in early. A gas line for a fire pit or conduit for lighting is far easier to set before the pavers go down than to retrofit after.
